Today the Warsaw educational section of ZSP-IWA make another information action in front of the University of Warsaw. We gave a few hundred flyers and talk with the students and other poeple that were walking over there. We are making regular information actions for students since January and regular meetings in the "Infoszop" for students who are against paying for education. On 6th
January 2010 the police arrested 23 people in Ankara (Turkey) by using brutal force. The arrests occurred during a demonstration and press conference for the immediate release of the imprisoned military objector Enver Aydemir. One person among the arrested demonstrators has been detained: our comrade and anarchist Volkan Sevinc has been in jail for 40 days. We protest the imprisonment of Volkan Sevinc as well as the planned conviction of 19 other comrades to prison sentences between 1-10 years on the indictment "discouragement of the people from doing military service". We?re going to meet on Saturday, 13 February 2010 simultaneously in Ankara and Istanbul as not yet convicted, killing-refusing antimilitarists to do another demonstration with the aim of "discouraging people of doing military service".

Dozens of people were arrested today by Moscow police as they marched on the anniversary of of lawyer Stanislav Markelov and journalist Anastasia Baburova killed by nazi's one year ago today. LOS ANGELES – Responsible Education and Media (R.E.M.) is launching a nationwide "info-ad" campaign this week, beginning with a full-page educational advertisement in the LA Weekly on February 4. This first info-ad, "Tainted," is aimed at further exposing the meat industry in the United States and its use of ammonia to kill E. coli and salmonella.

"The U.S. meat supply is being contaminated with ammonia allegedly to make meat safer, yet it doesn't appear to even be working as there are still significant levels of E. coli and salmonella present in the ammonia-treated meat," states Keri Rosebraugh, spokeswoman for R.E.M. "This tainted meat is ending up being fed to school children and the public nationwide."
